Heptarchia

Heptarchia is a free turn-based grand strategy game set in early medieval Britain and beyond, starting in 790 AD.

Lead Wessex, Mercia, Northumbria or dozens of other peoples – Welsh, Gaels, Norse, Franks, Byzantines, Arabs, steppe peoples – and forge a kingdom in an age of kings, saints and raiders.

• Win the support of the Witan and fulfil your royal ambitions, or the nobles turn against you
• Build churches and monasteries, strengthen the faith and deal with Rome
• Recruit from your population: fyrd, thegns, elite household troops and ships
• Diplomacy: alliances, royal marriages, vassals who follow their lord to war, allies you can call to arms
• Land and sea battles, sieges, raids and plunder
• A living chronicle that records your reign
• Every people has its own painted look and its own music
• Multiplayer over the internet or LAN (hold Tab to see the players and their ping)
• English, Hungarian and German

The game is installed and kept up to date by the free ParthLauncher (Windows and macOS), which also brings two more free games: Birodalom (real-time strategy) and Kard és Mágia (roguelike).
